Tales from the Bus - Davie the Bus

Produced by Nick Turner

Wee Jeanie MacFee The Mermaid Child The Selkies The Selkie Of Sule Skerry The Three Donalds Shamus MacGreggor The Lowlands Away Eilidh Mhor An Argyllshire Fireman has produced the first in a series of storytelling CD’s.

Davie The Bus is a storyteller, poet, musician and fireman who lives on the remote island of Lismore, off of the West coast of Scotland. This collection comes from his many years traveling and touring throughout the British Isles and centers around his life in Argyll.

They include “Wee Jeanie MacFee” and her terrible encounter with the dreaded Kelpie, and “Eilidh Mhor”, a story inspired by Lismore’s hard won independence from the reiving Vikings.

The CD also includes contributions from other Argyll storytellers with music from Fiona Davidson and Jim Hunter, and Davie himself.

All of the stories were written and adapted for performance, or selected by Davie and produced with both adults and children in mind. Sue Arnold writing in The Guardian newspaper rated this magical CD very highly.

The CD plays for over 70 minutes and includes a selection of stories, poems, music and song.
